DALLAS — Star NFL linebacker Von Miller is accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend at their home in Dallas this week, multiple police sources and officials told WFAA on Thursday morning.
Dallas police officials confirmed that a warrant for a charge of assaulting a pregnant person has been issued for Miller, a 34-year-old DeSoto native who plays for the Buffalo Bills.
Police said officers at 11 a.m. Wednesday responded to a “major disturbance” call in the 3100 block of North Harwood in the Uptown area of Dallas.
Officers learned that Miller and the alleged victim were in an argument when Miller allegedly assaulted her, police said. Multiple police sources told WFAA that the alleged victim is Miller’s longtime girlfriend.
Police said Miller left the scene before officers arrived. The alleged victim was not taken to a hospital but was treated for minor injuries at the scene, police said.
As of 10 a.m. Thursday, Miller had not been arrested.
A charge of assaulting a pregnant person is a third-degree felony in Texas.
WFAA reached out to the office of the attorney who is believed to be representing Miller, but the attorney was not immediately available for comment.
The Bills in a statement said: “This morning, we were made aware of an incident involving Von Miller. We are in the process of gathering more information and will have no further comment at this point.”
Miller, a DeSoto native, is in his second season with the Bills, who are on a bye and not playing this week.
Miller previously played for the Los Angeles Rams in 2021 and for the Denver Broncos from 2011-2021.
Miller was a star in Denver, where he earned three first-team All-Pro selections and led the Broncos to a Super Bowl victory in 2015. Miller was traded to the Rams during the 2021 season and helped Los Angeles to a Super Bowl victory that season.
Miller played college football at Texas A&M.
In 2021, Miller was under investigation by the Parker, Colo., police department, but the 18th Judicial District, the district attorney’s office for the city, declined to move forward with charges against Miller. Details surrounding the investigation were not disclosed by authorities, and Miller remained on the Broncos team for that upcoming season.
