The half-centuries by India’s opener Sai Sudharsan and Indian skipper KL Rahul helped the team to finish with a fightable score of 211 runs. South African pacer Nandre Burger clinched 3 crucial wickets to derail India’s batting. 

India lost two more wickets in quick succession as pacer Lizaad Williams dismissed in-form batter Sai Saudharsan and Beuran Hendricks took out Sanju Samson to provide his team with another breakthrough. Debutant Rinku Singh is on the crease now and KL Rahul is close to his half-century. 

Nandre Burger continue the domination of his pace as he clinched 2nd wicket of the day and dismissed Tilak Varma. Team India skipper KL Rahul is on the crease now and will look to play a long partnership with good-looking Sai Sudharsan. 

South Africa pacer Nandre Burger provided his team with a strong start as he dismissed India’s opener Ruturaj Gaikwad on the first ball of the match. Currently, Sai Sudharsan and Tilak Varma are playing cautiously to stabilise Indian innings. 

South African skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and opted to ball first in the 2nd ODI. Team India skipper KL Rahul was also interested in batting first, but he said that he will like to capitalize on the overcast conditions. Rinku Singh is making his ODI debut today as he replaces Shreyas Iyer in the playing XI. 

On December 19, India are set to face South Africa at St George’s Park, Gqeberha, in the second ODI of the three-match series. The Men in Blue secured a victory over the Proteas by 8 wickets in the first ODI, which took place at the Wanderers Stadium on December 17. The Indian team is captained by KL Rahul while Aiden Markram is at the helm for the host team.
